If anyone is planning on going to another country with a pet, you should have a pet passport that can be provided by your local vet, you will need an intwrnational health certificate usually within 30 days of your visit to said foriegn land. Some couontries require a rabies titer and I believe most require a universal microchip.

Always always always go online and check what each specific country wants. If you show up on the shores of a foriegn country, without the proper paperwork, you stand the chance of having your pet confiscated and put in quarentine. The countries and islands that don't have rabies are the worse to deal with. They don't want the disease brought in and therefore are real sticklers. The Us islands aren't an issue and niether is Mexico.
