In working out a way to hoist and launch single-handed I determined a way that you could also handle it without ever having the bottom contact the decks:
Instead of using a standard dinghy lifting bridle, the method is to hoist it (without engine) nose-up by the dinghy bow eye; but bring it only high enough so the aft ends of the tubes are still on deck. That lets you lock the halyard and maneuver the aft end of the dinghy by hand on/off the deck to/from over the sides, then go back to the halyard to adjust and maneuver the dinghy in stages/steps until it's launched or retrieved. I have a Forespar Motor Mate we use for the engine.
The dinghy in my photo was never painted. It's a lighter model we bought just for trips away from home port.
