It can get messy, Dave

We usually tow our Carib RIB while poking along the coast. If we plan to be making a long day of it or an overnight run we'll carry the dinghy upside down on the foredeck. The few times that we have done this I've rigged a 3 point bridle lifting the boat upright on to the deck then flipping it over. Any flexing of the inflatable pontoons during this process will cause some of the Pettit Hydrocoat to flake off all over the deck. I like Larry's technique. I'll be giving it a try next time.
