Sand.
In Response To: Need nonskid advice ()

Scott,
You haven't gotten a lot of responses, so I'll chip in. When we bought our Tartan 30 in 1988, the foredeck was slick to the point of being dangerous. I repainted the deck 'Bristol Beige', sprinkling sand in the non-skid areas while the paint was still tacky. After cure, I swept/vacuumed up the loose stuff and gave it a second coat. Worked fine. Only caveat is that I have a source of very fine sand. I caution you do do a 'sample board' and try kneeling on it (in shorts) before you commit to doing the deck.
After some years, the Admiral started to refer to the color as 'baby diaper brown', and the deck was repainted - no new sand. It has been repainted at least once again - still with the same sand.
Let me know if you need some sand.
