No Awlgrip users?

I Awlgriped the decks on my Bowman 46 last summer. People mistake it for a professional job. Here's what you do. Apply Awlgrip white 545 Epoxy Primer. Sand smooth with 220. Apply Awlgrip topcoat (I used a foam roller suitable for epoxy paints). For a topcoat I like Ice Blue or Aqua Mist because they stay cool in the tropical sun. Immediately sprinkle compound on wet paint. My method: using a screened sifter with a handle, sprinkle Pettit skidless compound 9900. You're going for a nice even coverage rather than thick and clumpy. The Pettit product is grippy but easy on the knees. Also perfect size granules for a screened sifter. Next, it is important to vacuum loose compound. Then using yellow Epoxy Pro rollers apply two (one per/day) coats over the compound. Voila! Jamestown Distributors carries all the stuff you need.
