The Ohlson 41 that had a few feet of cabin removed and the cockpit extended for daysailing with a large extended family. New decks were needed anyway. It's had it's new longer coamings added and went through the paint sheds for brushing on a new topsides coat and varnish. Still needs the original rig(aluminum I think) that's getting painted, stepped. Nothing like new paint and varnish on an old hull, it's suddenly a new boat. GYRE, it's new name, is headed to Hyannis Port.
This is the sailing end of a boat I think. It tells you a bit about what it will be like to slide through waves with a good press of wind. With a blustery Nantucket Sound in my mind, this end looks good to my eye.
I'd like to see it finished and floating at the docks, but from the few glimpses I'm getting of the finishing project, I think this dog will hunt(and I had my doubts).
