I just installed an e7 on a customers standard straight 1" pedestal guard. No box just a mount I designed for the e7. I used my favorite clamp collars from Mcmaster Carr to hold it in place.

Cheap, easy and not huge and in the way, owner loves it.... BTW the e7 can send it's scrren display to an iPad.. Kind of cool...
