The acrylic latex enamels are very different from the old latex stuff..

() I've used nothing but those on the interiors of boats, both mine and customers, for about 15 years now.
On the last several boats, I've been using a Porch and Deck Enamel from ACE Hardware. Seems to hold up every bit as well as Brightsides, and as said, is SO much cheaper.
Years ago I had a sign up advertising my furniture repair shop- painted with acrylic latex, that sign was stolen 15 years later when we were moving the shop- had planned to keep on using it, because it looked as good as new.
I'm sold on the stuff.
