Double Horizon was splashed about three weeks ago and we've been using her as much as time permits.
We saw this boat on the way over to Oyster Bay NY a few weeks ago. She looked to be in "bristol" condition with everything polished and bright. As you can tell by sea-state the winds were light in the 5-12 range. That boat appears to be moving along smartly. We had a pleasant sail.
On the return trip, the winds had picked up and we had about 10-15 true on a beam reach. The wind meter is set to show apparent wind so it's shifted forward due to boat speed, and we had a much quicker return. (I rarely switch to true except when running deep, as I find apparent more useful for trimming when beating or reaching. Also, since I'm lazy I don't bother to switch out the dummy plug for the speed sensor for short day sails.)
BTW -- the woollies on the sliding hatch were put there by the PO. A good idea, it helps reduce the incidence of head bumps (when the person feels the wool string on his/her head.)
