Beryl hit Jacksonville, which is 100+ miles south of Savannah. We missed most of the wind and rain, but it still blew pretty good here. My Home Cheapo weather station recorded a wind gust of 33 MPH, and it reads at least 5 MPH low.
I had camera in hand while talking to some folks on the docks here when I heard a big SPLASH. I thought someone fell in, or maybe a dolphin jumped in the fairway. I then noticed this.
The owner had the helm station door open on his trawler and a big gust popped the middle window out in his helm station. This is an opening window and the gust ripped the hinges off the frame. The window popped out and the wind carried it over the side without hitting the deck or the bowrail. A diver later recovered the heavy glass window, unscathed.
