when conditions are predicted to be dangerous. The museum at the Casino does have one photo of a really nasty storm at Avalon that did a lot of damage. I did a quick online search for anything to show and found surf pounding what may be Hamilton Bay. The moored boats seemed to be tolerating it. I'm sure there are many worse examples, I just didn't find them.
