And didn't get a dodger until we went down the coast. We got hammered too often with wind and spray, and had one built in Florida.
Then when we returned to Lake Champlain, we sailed a lot to windward(the wind blows up or down the lake) and did many races that way.
At the end of the day, we could tell who didn't have dodgers. The skin on their faces was a surreal orange brown color, a little like freshly tanned leather.
