Instead of going south with the sun. That's fun, we've enjoyed doing that, but the "bash"(more a boat move north-south) is my least favorite part. But that's how most travel the snowbird flyway from our area. We don't have Mexico for a cruising ground though. I'd want to see and sail much of that if it was available.
The sailing we enjoy the most and want to do more of, is within a few hundred miles of where we live. It would be nice to have the extra time to get farther North and South along the coast, take advantage of the moving season, but do it at a sailing pace. That's our favorite way to sail and cruise.
This also coincides with high vacation rental season in this area(weekly rents in summer hover around monthly rents in winter). That makes even more sense to get out of town for a couple months.
