but don't know if the trade-offs are worth the reward of an easy impeller change - for one thing, that mounting spindle seems ...well, a little "spindly", I'm not real crazy about the new hose routing either - didn't see a price on it, but I guarantee it's not going to be cheap (limited production machining never is). I'll probably just stick with my quick-change spare pump. I'm a firm believer in having spares of the most critical engine peripherals anyway ...at least in the areas we cruise. currently, I have a spare alternator, starter, raw water pump, fresh water pump kit, exhaust manifold, injectors, plus the many filters, and a gasket set. These are all double vacuum sealed in heavy plastic and stowed down low (think more ballast - they take up surprisingly little space). So far the only good they've done is to help other cruisers.
