I lube the hoses with diesel or light oil
In Response To: If it is a diesel line, have you put some diesel in the hose? ()
I sometimes use the light oil because it is more convenient. I don't usually have any readily accessible diesel.

- The only thing I can think of is that you were looking at the 1/4 in NPT
