The bottom is off the deck by at least 0.25 inch in a few places. Also, the top is not all that tight, no seal.

And, there is a safety switch (with the red bottom in the right forward end of the box) that is rated for engine room/dangerous compartments. The way the switch is mounted, if the lid is closed, the switch can not be in the on position. I wanted to make sure that is the lid gets shut, the pump goes off at once.
