I plan to put in a 3/8 aluminum rod above the mast as a lightning point 10 inches above my vhf antenna. So what about interference with the antenna signal. I plan to insulate the body of the antenna so the mast will not be grounded at two places so no ground loop. I want a great antenna signal and a reasonable cone of protection under the air terminal. Experience? Data? Hope??
