This is a fairly narrow bar which claims a few folks every year. Some years are worse than others. There are five small'ish rivers that run into this bay.

Some telephoto in this as I'm standing nearer to shore. Turns out I've fished with this guy. We've been out fishing and had the bar closed by the Coast Guard and had to wait to re-enter. Boat is 25' open boat with IIRC 250 h.p. Merc power plus 9.9 trolling motor of course.

That is the south jetty which has broken down a lot over the years, much shorter than it used to be. There is no money and no will to redo the south or north jetties.
