I am amazed at the Mexico fishermen that go out in a 20' open boat, just motor fishing gear, no water no pfd's, no fire eq. and then I look at all the gear I need to take a dink to shore in the states from the big boat.
Looks like you have a lot of thinking to do, but the head on your shoulder is the best safety Eq. you will ever have.

PS I think that 2 radar is over kill.
