a tap that will cut full threads all the way into a 'blind' hole, not a tapered tap.

Just take one screw with you to a local 'industrial supply' and have them match the thread profile ... and get a proper tap handle/holder to use with the purchased tap.

just run the tap into the threads to clean out, but dont 'force' it.
