I've been waiting for some bronze repair.

I admire people that are skilled in working with metals. Joel from Rockport Marine is an artist and has repaired many things for my boat(original sinks to stantions). I took him two parts: My bronze boom end fitting's main sheet connection bale, had nearly worn through.

Plus my lower mainsheet fiddle block's eye which was built to the traveler car by South Coast(anybody know when they stopped doing biz?) and the bronze bale on the car, had nearly worn through(it's hanging off a shackle on the boom bale just for this photo).

He easily rebuilt the bronze boom end bale. On the fiddle block, he built the eye up first, punched out the old bale on the car, drilled it oversized, bent in a new bronze bale and peened and brazed it over the rebuilt fiddle block eye. Fantastic!

That's all I needed. 65 new screws in new holes put the bronze track back on, the outhaul mechanism is re-fastened and bedded, and the end fittings are re-fastened in epoxied and re-drilled screw holes, everything newly bedded.
