I'm painting my topsides and buying a gallon. 
In Response To: storing opened bottom paint ()
It only takes 2 quarts(I've done it a few times). My supplier has empty quart paint cans so I plan to get a couple and fill them with the remaining gallon. I think in a paint can with little air, re-topped with a new lid, it should last a few years. Can you get any of the new empty quart cans?
