Lots of experience with diesel engines although I never owned a brand new one. The original Swedish version probably said "torque after 50 hours operation" which would mean one time once the engine was operated for a while. That would be a reasonable practice.
We did a project for a Japanese-owned US customer a few years ago where we were required to use Mitsubishi PLC (industrial programmable control systems). The equipment was good but the manuals were a hoot (and a royal PITA). They were clearly written by a native Japanese speaker/writer who knew the equipment. We had to figure out lots of the functions on our own, then we could interpret what they were saying in the manuals. Why they didn't hire a native English speaker to edit the manuals was a mystery, considering how much marketing effort they put into developing the North American market. By the end of the project we had a complete set of annotated manuals that we offered to them but they said, "No Thanks."
