Is that a Universal engine? The good thing about that flange style is that you can make your own elbow easily out of black pipe and fittings from the local hardware store. You can use galvanized, but it will gas and stink for a while.

It may just be perspective or depth of field, but it looks like that thick black ground wire is in danger of chafing on the hose clamp.
