Screen shot of the plotter with all those AIS green triangles as we approached Cascais nine days out from the Azores. Night was falling, the 20-30 knot winds of the past eight days are dying quickly, and the always reliable Yanmar did not start. Diagnose for an hour, no joy, sail very slowly across these busy traffic lanes; at Wanda's insistence try the engine one more time in the morning and it slowly starts so we can motor in to Cascais Marina by noon. I promised her a fancy dinner! The rack in the governor was stuck on idle or even partly shut off, will probably be taking that apart this winter.
Really enjoyed the Azores, very beautiful islands with friendly people and very reasonable dockage and food prices. We are looking forward to exploring mainland Europe.
