... I assume your new sail with have a large roach, if it's being made with full battens? Roach and topping lift do not play well together. You can use one but you will always need to be careful to raise the main so that the topping lift is positioned on the same side where it attaches up top. There is no "middle". Middle = interference.
Full battens with lazy jacks = way to go! Sail cover should zip at the top and stow rolled at the sides of the boom. Lazy jacks should be able to support the boom and stowed main when the sail is down. You can clip the halyard or removable topping lift to the aft end of the boom when the boat is at your slip/anchor/mooring.
