Do you have a barometer on your boat? Do you ever use it? Every boat I've owned, that was more than 20 feet long, had one and I've never made use of any of them. I suppose if I were in the middle of an ocean I might find one useful. At my age I don't expect to be in the middle of any oceans. Even then I'm not sure I'd use one. I also have a sextant aboard which I have never used except for fun. I suppose if all else on the planet failed I could still work out a noon sun sight and use the barometer for weather guidance. How likely is that to happen? In the Bahamas, changes in wind direction are the best weather predictors. It does look kinda good up there on the wall next to the clock so I'll keep it.
It's been pouring down rain here in FLorida for the past two days. That's the explanation for all these posts from me. Too much time stuck inside the cabin.
