Our lee cloths are about 15" high and

are attached to the bunk by a thin fibreglass batten and screws, about 6" into the bunk, so that the screws are in shear
We left about 9" open at the head end. Possible to lose pillow, but much better ventilation.
A 3/16" line from the two top corners is tied to cleats on the bulkhead. Easy to set up, and if you install the cleats vertically they are handy for hanging clothes on to keep them off the soles, and promote drying
They work fine.
