I don't get it, Nat. Chrome was invented to deliver targeted advertising. That's Google's business model and they're very successful at it.
Imagine you're a doctor and a patient says to you: "I get a lot of acid indigestion". You ask what they eat, and they tell you "Bacon, egg and cheese for breakfast, burgers and fries for lunch, and Fish and Chips for dinner, with pickles on the side." so you say "Take some Rolaids, Tums, or Prilosec".
How about eating differently?
If you read the article I linked to below you'd know why the current version of IE is more secure than Chrome or Firefox. If you had a problem it was statistically aberrant, or your system hadn't been updated regularly, or both. IE did get a deservedly bad reputation in the past, but in the last few years it's the most secure browser. The expert references are there in the article, it's not just my opinion.
