Every one of your links is old and refers to information that's even older (e.g. 2003 and references to IE 7 while Microsoft is on IE 11). Many bloggers have opinions based on old information and real experiences too, ideas which don't die easily.
I'm not going to debate this. What you believe was true several years ago. There are stats to bear out both sides, but the ones that support yours will be older. Not trying to start a flame war.
You're entitled to your opinions and choices. My experience is based on supporting a large number of Windows devices in more than 50 organizations and in staying abreast of "best management practices" for computers. We know who is more likely to have problems, and why. Security issues go beyond which browsers people use, too. Viva!
