I can keep the oil heat going in a power failure, not inexpensive but cheap considering the alternatives. The 2000i won't run both the heat and refrigerator at the same time, but that is easy to work around. I am also able to keep some lights and a moderate size TV running. Probably the most important use the "little red machine" has.
