Autohelm ST4000 control head

We knew when we bought the boat that the autopilot had an issue. The PO said it worked fine until it went into the water last year, then when powering up it would steer to starboard regardless of the setting and also would not go into standby mode. As a temporary "fix" I unplugged the power. I see that Raymarine will take a look at it for a flat fee of $275 plus shipping both ways. I decided to take a look myself last night, I figured it was something related to water intrusion as the PO also lost the sun cover. Sure enough, when I pulled it apart there was a rust mark on the lower left corner of the circuit board. I pulled the unit completely apart and discovered that the reverse side of that rust mark is a component that is the same size, color and shape as a navy bean, with three pins soldered to the circuit board. The rust was from the three pins, two of which had rusted through. The rest of the board looks sound. I found another control head on eBay that was not functioning but was good for parts. I figured that for $25 it was worth a shot. The plan is when that unit arrives I'm going to do a bean transplant. I have several small soldering irons, tweezers and such. I have no idea what the component is to even do a search for a replacement. Never thought of taking a photo last night to post here either. I contacted Raymarine to see of they still have replacement sun covers, I figured it was worth a couple of minutes of time but don't have much hope.
