Spoke with customer service at Raymarine Friday afternoon, that is customer service with a small c and really no service at all. The guy I talked to explained to me in a very irritated way that they no longer support the ST4000, have not supported it in 10 years and have no parts. Without saying anything further, he disconnected the call.
After a bunch of hours on the internet this weekend I also identified my "bean". It is an 11Mhz ceramic resonator. Trying to find one has been a challenge though.
