Which may be a bit easier for her to use. I'd have to put a backing riser on the step to ensure that she can't step through the door louvers. She had an idea to build a ladder that would hook onto the lip at the filler, but that meant having to find a place to store the ladder... that was why I went back to the hidden step idea.

But if the step just stays there, unless removed for cabinet access, then it IS out of the way.
