OK here is the berth access problem I mention below re "Bronze hardware"
So here is what I am proposing...
Here is the space with the filler face removed.
This is the back of the fller face...
I'd keep it much simpler
That crossed my mind... Still looking for options/ideas.
I'd section out that filler back to the 'glass and install a temp step which...
Just after I clicked on your link I got a "trojan" alert from my antivirus. Don't know if there was any correlation.
Search "Bed Rail" Fasteners or bracket
I would keep it simple as well. Why
I like your folding mast step idea
I suppose Gene could put in some longer
I really don't believe the door has that much strength...
My first thought
Removing the filler really cuts into the available bunk area.
I actually just meant remove the facing below
Thinking further on that idea...
options
Not bad ideas... all lead to a step on the outside...

Yeah the head door does open all the way.
Thanks for the ideas and comments all... I love this "crowd sourcing...."
Be sure you carry a towel.

Thanks guys... Duh! I did use that reference... and totally forgot.
Folding step alternative...
That's the step I was talking about in my post. I
Brilliant minds think alike

Installed one just like that in a Tartan 41, so the Vee berth was more easily accessible
Door/step combo.
