If you mean Long Island Sound--
In Response To: Long island ()

then Larry -DH is your most reliable source found right here. He knows the Connecticut coast very well. The Sound is well buoyed and marked and for the most part deep.
For paper an Embassy Cruising guide is good overview with small harbor charts-- costs about $45. I have found Active Captain--free on the web to be the best for updated information. I contribute to it as do other regular sailors. You will benefit form Eldridge Tide and Current book $14.00 at Amazon or Landfall Navigation or Defender. You will find the Sound the most enjoyable place to sail with interesting harbors never more than 3-4 hours from each other and can spend a summer exploring. No real hazards with prevailing south westerlies except a intermittent violent August squall or thunder line when things can get a bit difficult for the unprepared. When do you plan to visit and what is your float plan?
