Well, as some have said, cruising plans are made in the sand at low tide.
But, we have decided to pass on the camper this summer and head back
to the chesapeake. so thinking on that, we also would like to go to NY
as a number of years ago we enjoyed staying at the 79th st boat basin moorings.
If that be the case, I might entertain sailing to block island for a few days, then
head down the sound to the city. we would have no real time constraints.
My draft is 5.5 ft, lets say 50 ft for air draft but that should't matter as I recall.
We cruise at around 5 kts for planning purposes and usually limit days to 4-6 hours
travelling. no special challenges as in kids and pets, and we like the usual, shopping,
towns just to walk around, museums on occasion as well. preferences for
the boat are anchor, mooring, marina in that order.
