So you are not turning off the source as you normally do?

follow your usual procedure and turn off the power source before unplugging.
But yeah, have to agree with others here... breakers do wear out. I had a 50 amp two phase GCFI breaker for the hot tub do just that not long ago... replaced it and everything is fine.
The other thing that happens to breakers is that sometimes spiders or ants get into them and cause problems. Do you have "crazy ants" around?

- Breakers are UL certified IIRC to TWO flips, two breaks as it were. After that....I'd consider changing it out.

- I always did that procedure. Was told it was not necessary
