Put a butyl cone around the tapered screw heads

Push them into the frame (butyl will hold them there)

Put a long butyl cone around the screw protruding from the bottom

Countersink each deck hole slightly

Connect the screw holes on the frame with butyl tape

Drop hatch into place and begin tightening the screws

As they get snug stand on the hatch frame and allow your body weight to "set" the butyl.

Tighten a few more times until it stops displacing..

Peel away excess and wipe with a damp rag with mineral spirits
