Yes. Maybe 20 years.
Well, that's a testament to working.
I have had butyl tape sort of "ooze" out of the joint over time

I'd go with the 4200. I'm not sold on butyl conceptually but have not used it 'cuz of that.
Again, if it is in the sun, use 4000 UV, not 4200 - unless you like the yellowing look of 4200
