of course there was forum drama about both. My summary:
Rebel Heart: 800 miles offshore, inexperienced crew, life thought to be in immediate danger, grateful to have been rescued, manned up and scuttled the boat.
Alpha 42: 200 miles offshore, experienced crew, no one in immediate danger, refused first rescue offer because they didn't like the destination, left the boat as flotsam.
Both crews had publicly criticized others decisions in past similar situations.
