I gotta disagree on one point. "....speaks more to their watch keeping than unmarked hazards"

I've stood night watch when you would be lucky to see the bow of the boat in the darkness. I'm just sayin'..... it'd be easy to hit an unmarked hazard, or even a marked one unless it had a light, on many, many nights at sea.
