Eric and Charlotte tell their story on NPR tomorrow
Know what time?
different times depending on local stations
Thanks, I look forward to hearing that.
Here's the transcript...
The SIM card thing is a real fiasco...
SO TRUE AND sadly takes place often!
That should worry anyone that relies on that communication.
Being a "heavily built" production cruiser, they probably used #12 sheet metal screws for the deck rather than #10...
Some production boats...
That isn't how that boat was built
Turns out, the boat had teak decks over rotten plywood...
I just saw that
After reading the interview
I waited for the audio podcast. It's a good one.
From what we know, their abandonment makes far more sense than the Alpha 42 to me...
That perspective softens mine a bit
I don't think the flotsam part is valid criticism
I'll bet that Alpha would sink just fine...
I think you're very wrong about that
I know a lot of people think that...

My prior boat
The Lagoon comparison is a red herring
Either way
You may be right about it being some work - but I guess we will know in a year or so?
You don't think the surface area of a catamaran is much more than your boat?
I have read estimates of less than 2x, but I don't have CAD files for the Alpha...
Leaving beam out of it for now
A couple of points on that...
I gotta disagree on one point. "....speaks more to their watch keeping than unmarked hazards"
I would put it as concern #400
. Has it ever happened?
I seen the movie......recently.....
Great vision. "The CG stands by as the last crew of BE GOOD TOO fires up a screaming 550P Huskavarna chainsaw,..."
That seems a valid point... Also, it wouldn't surprise me...
I'm thinking that the broach was strong enough
