If it was way more than 2x (as I said before) it would weigh substantially more than claimed. Of course many cats do weigh a lot, and lots of laminate is the main reason. First order guess for a simple shape, if it was twice as wide as mine, it would still have less than twice the laminate. A cat isn't twice as wide as my boat, nor is the deck solid from stem to stern. However I would like to hear from someone with certain knowledge how much laminate is in a cruising cat compared to a similar monohull.
