• What ever happened to wing keels...
  • The fad seems to be fading
    • If we ever invent a short stubby keel that performs like deep draft, we'll all have them.
    • The main advantage in a production boat seems to be more volume to put the lead..
      • They would have been better off putting a bulb
        • Yep: fashion is perhaps the largest factor in yacht design.
          • Example: new interior designs for sailboats.
  • draft is certainly an issue for us
    • 4'6" MAXIMUM draft, sorry
    • A bow thruster would help that a lot
      • we changed boats, changed slips
  • I like'em for shallower draft boats. But wasn't end plate effect a part of those?
