I am SO bored with the standard 30'+/- sailboat interior, come below, there's the galley, move forward into the salon, then head and hanging locker, and vee berth in the bow. Yawn...

In the racing days, I much preferred the head and sail storage forward, galley amidships, and just bunks, often pipe style aft similar to what one might find in an Olson 30 or a T10. For luxury I love the queen size bunk running athartships under the cockpit as in the Catalina Capri 26 and others. Pearson had the "stateroom" aft but with the bunk running fore and aft it makes for terrible comfort for ingress/egress.

And so on...... Fashion design, sometimes it's a good thing.
