Yes, each one only handles a single battery bank.

I have two large house battery banks. My forward one still uses a Victron Energy battery monitor and I'm trying to talk myself into spending the money to replace it with another Clipper unit.

I use combiners to combine the house banks and the starting battery whenever there is a charge source present.

I don't have a monitor on the starting battery. I don't feel one is needed there any more than I need one for the battery in my car.
