The biggest problem I deal with on the older Link products such as the 10, 20, 1000, 2000 & 2000R is they are very prone to drift at this point in time.. I have a bucket full of them that have gone haywire and unfortunately there is nothing you can do.
When Xantrex bought the product (Cruising Equipment then Heart Interface) and wanted to make changes & fixes they wound up just having TBS Electronics step in with a totally new and more accurate product. TBS had been the manufacturer for Victron monitors prior to signing the deal with Xantrex for the Link-Lite and Link-Pro. The new Link-Lite and Link-Pro don't have the buggy issues, including drift, that the older ones did.
The problem with the older Links has become so bad I had a company make me up a bunch of plates that accept a newer Link, or Victron, and fit the old 1000 & 2000 cut out..
You could not pay me to buy used pre Link-Lite or Link-Pro anything....
The link 2000R on this boat was so shot it was reading off by approx 18A and the alt reg portion would only do float.
