() The ceiling heights in NYC, Newport RI, etc. make-up for some of the increase in distance from the outside to the inside walls ;^))).
There's an old Rockefeller place that was in the Adirondacks (Sarnac Lake) called "The Point". It's been turned into a resort. All of the cottages were amazingly dark from such a neat place in the woods.
