Frankly, I'm surprised this story hasn't received wider attention in the mass media, at least from what I can tell... After all, the defining characteristic of what makes it onto TV these day - namely, video footage - is pretty damn compelling, and certainly the essence of 'Reality Television'... And yet, NBC's Nightly News last night closed with the rescue of that guy who went missing off Hawaii on his 25' Bayfield, and played it up as if it was one of the Greatest Sea Stories of All Time... (grin)
Go figure...
